The Little Gem that is Luxembourg

After crossing into Luxembourg around midday we find our campground on the outskirts of Belgium no worries, a recommendation from the ever helpful Lonely Planet! For the first time (and not the last) we find the camp reception shut over lunchtime so pull into their waiting area and have some lunch while we wait. When they re-open we get a site and find it's probably one of the nicest grounds we've had. Good layout and very level sites, good size too. The toilets and showers are clean, spacious and there's even toilet paper! (one up on the Paris campground!).

We catch the bus from just outside the camp into town less than 10 minutes away. Arriving into the city we are stunned by the entry into the city, it's beautiful with a big valley (the Petrusse Valley) filled with trees and a couple of old bridges spanning the valley. We have a good look around the city, seeing the Notre Dame Cathedral and Golden Lady Memorial statue. We see Clairefontaine square, Corniche (the most beautiful balcony of Europe) and more. It's a beautiful sunny afternoon and we soak up the sun, the weather's been iffy at best since we set out. We head back to camp in the evening after having had a good look around.

The following morning en-route to Belgium we notice that there's a new red light lit up on the dash board. We pull over on the motorway to investigate. We haven't been there long when the law pulls up alongside us. After enquiring as to why we'd pulled over on the motorway strip and realising we were pretty innocent, they left us to go on our way. First encounter with the cops, not to be the last...
